Infrared (IR) thermography inspection is a condition monitoring system which utilizes an infrared camera to detect any abnormalities / potential defect on electrical and mechanical (ME) equipments in early stages prior to equipment failures.

This technology promotes the most efficient method for preventive / predictive maintenance since it provides quick and accurate detection on potentially defective equipments without disturbing the production schedule (on stream inspection).

Since most of the  defective equipments / facilities can be detected by observing their thermal image pattern, IR themography inspection provides the ability to identify potential problem areas earlier, allowing proactive correction to be made. Thus eliminate  unscheduled power shutdown or unplanned machinery breakdown which might cost millions of US Dollars in lost production downtime and machinery / equipment replacement.

Infrared Thermography Inspection could also support  fire preventive program (fire safety and property protection). As electrical connection become loose and dirty, corrosion become evident; if there is an increase in the resistance of current, connection can become hot/ burned. On the similar case, most mechanical equipment such as motor winding, roll bearing, diesel engine, etc; will heat up if there is improper lubrication, shaft misalignment, or overloading capacity. Again infrared inspection can pinpoint those excessive heat in early stage before those hotspot become destructive fire.

Base on the recommendation of Academy of infrared in Canada / USA, infrared inspection is best performed once every six months for industries that operate with seasonal / unstable load, or at minimum once every year for industries that experience  relatively stable load.

IR Thermography report will be prepared by a certified thermographer, and the report will consist of:

Thermal and visual digital photograph of each equipment .

Analysis of overheating cause and its recommendation to repair.

1 unit of CD ROM for backup file and computer application (the software is compatible with Microsoft office application).
